Learning new words in morning: Astute point

Usually in the morning after my first cup of coffee I learn new Spanish words using Duolingo app.  Today I read a great funny article sent to me by a friend.  I enjoyed all 16 min of reading, and learned two new words - astute point and yak-shaving.  Will try to use them in a sentence today.

Astute point

Astute point” and “good point” are similar, but not exact synonyms.

Similarities:
Both phrases refer to a valuable or valid observation made in a discussion or argument.

Differences:

Phrase Meaning Nuance
Good point A generally valid, helpful, or accurate observation. Broad, can refer to anything useful or correct.
Astute point A particularly clever, insightful, or sharp observation. Implies intelligence, perception, or strategic thinking.

"Yak shaving"

"Yak shaving" is a metaphor that refers to unnecessary or tangential tasks that a person takes on, often while procrastinating on a larger or more important task.

However, another version is:

It refers to engaging in a meaningless task that has no obvious relationship to what's supposed to be worked on but may be necessary to troubleshoot a larger problem. The process of making a simple task unnecessarily complicated may also qualify as yak shaving.
